Your journey starts with Recruit Series, which is a 26 hour (minimum) training program designed to teach youth the foundation of Close Order Drill, General Knowledge, Field Skills, Navigation, Drug Resistance, Public Speaking, Leadership, United States History and Citizenship, and Fitness, Health & First Aid. Recruits must earn the title of Young Marine by demonstrating knowledge of the foundations of the program and will get to celebrate with a Graduation Ceremony. Once the title of Young Marine is earned, youth will continue to develop advanced understanding of the foundation topics, earn ribbons, merits, awards and have the opportunity to participate in National hosted camps.
